Within the deep, aqua-blue, waters, creatures- of all sorts of shapes and sizes, delicately swim. Groups of jellyfish proudly beam with bright, eye-catching colours. Swiftly, schools travel across the canvas, in a graceful pattern, they freely glide, guiding our attention. Large, yet beautiful, animals overshadow the rest. This is my painting. Longing For The Blue. For this artwork, i used two mediums, acrylics and oil paints. Specifically, for the background (consisting mainly of turquoise blue) acrylic paints were used as I found it simple and easier to blend/ control- also being easy to paint over. For designs, or details, that I wanted to pop, such as small fishes or the stingrays, I put a mixture of two mediums. This added to the texture of the painting, making the visuals more appealing and interesting.
