This image is of an empty street in COVID times. It is meant to represent the loneliness and gloom that the pandemic brought the world. All the shops have sales and discounts to show how the economy suffered. It also shows through the sales and the closed sign on one building how places went out of business due to the lockdown and having no income. The shop windows displaying only a small portion of essential products like toilet paper, hand sanitizer and face masks shows how the mass panic led to shops running out of products and there was a lack of food in many places. The charcoal used to make the top look dirty is meant to represent gloom and despair. The water used to give the image detail and make the ink bleed is meant to make it look as it is crying for those who lost their lives to COVID-19 pandemic. The eyes are to represent how we watched as the world fell into disrepair and we all went into lockdown where all we could do is sit and wait for it to be over. They also represent our lives and what was happening. The eyes that are fading represent the issues people suffered through in lockdown, from COVID to family issues. The almost faded eye represents people who have lost the lives in the pandemic. The name is meant to suggest looking back on all that has happened in the last year.
