Temptation’s Grasp

The piece is a reflection on COVID -19 and how it affected me last year. In the piece there are two characters. One represents people and the other is death. In the image we can see that smoke is pouring out of death’s mouth and eyes. This smoke is a representation of COVID and how it is everywhere and how it pours from others. Death also represents temptation and is trying to take the mask off the woman’s face. The temptation for everyone to do their own thing and go out and party is tempting the woman who is resisting temptation, she is destroying the source of it, she has death’s arm in her grasp and is breaking it. The woman is currently wearing a combination of a non-caring or irritated expression. The reason I chose this expression is because I didn’t want the character to be angry with temptation or COVID because it’s just the situation we are in. We must overcome and continue with our situation. It would make no sense being angry with something that is impossible to change.
