The worldwide pandemic meant I was locked down and that I lost my freedoms and liberties which I always took for granted. I wanted the jail bars to be prominent in my artwork as I felt like I was locked away from family and friends for a never-ending period of time. COVID-19 was unknown and quite frightening and the whole world seemed jailed for a crime we did not commit. Therefore, my artwork captures my artistic impression of the different COVID-19 colorful variants attacking the world while we were all on lockdown with no escape.
The entire pandemic has caused confusion, chaos and disparity amongst many segments of our community and my artwork represents this truth from my perspective of the worldwide pandemic.
We will emerge from COVID-19 virus attack on the world. However, life as we know it will never be the same for many impacted personally by the pandemic.
