This art piece is about unseen Bermuda. I believe this means the obstacles or issues as citizens of Bermuda are not talked about enough or not at all. They can be treasures or problems that aren’t shown but should be. There are many different meanings you can take from this piece. There is a hurricane to show, even a beautiful island can have bad days and horrible weather. Indicating how even the most beautiful things can be hideous. There is also a gombey , clearly representing Bermuda’s culture and its people. However, the gombey is seen meditating, which is a process that can help people improve their wellness by reducing stress. I purposefully did this because I think that Bermudains do not take care of their mental health and this is overlooked. It is normal to have bad mental health and it shows in our community.
