The idea behind the piece was to create a serene seascape which is balanced by majestic clouds covering the skyline which let light escape and dance and reflect on the ocean waves.
I used a range of cool hues in the piece mostly in variations of blue to help depict the ocean scenery. I incorporate texture through fine brushwork and layering of colour to show the form of the clouds and the ocean’s surface.
I wanted to create a sense of calm in this piece when the viewer looks at it.
